Harare, Zimbabwe | August 2026 — The National Education Summit Zimbabwe (NESZ) has launched the AEZ National Education Leadership Academy, a comprehensive professional development programme series bringing nationally certified training to Zimbabwe’s educators, school leaders, SDC members, and education administrators across eight cities from September through November 2026.
The Academy is the direct implementation of several resolutions adopted in the NESZ 2026 Bulawayo Resolution — the landmark sixteen-point national education communiqué produced at the 4th National Education Summit Zimbabwe held in Bulawayo from 27 to 29 May 2026. In particular, the Academy responds to Resolution 4’s call for a coordinated National Continuous Professional Development Framework, Resolution 10’s mandate for accountability and transparent governance in education institutions, and Resolution 7’s directive to integrate digital skills and emerging technologies into Zimbabwe’s education system.
Five Programmes. Sixteen Sessions. Eight Cities.
The Academy delivers five flagship programmes across sixteen sessions in Harare, Masvingo, Bulawayo, Chiredzi, Mutare, Bindura, and other cities, offering Zimbabwe’s education workforce access to professional development close to home.
Accountability, Transparency and Integrity
Delivered in partnership with Transparency International Zimbabwe, this flagship governance programme strengthens ethical leadership, anti-corruption systems, and transparent governance in schools. Sessions run in Harare (15–17 September), Masvingo (22–24 September), Bulawayo (29 September–1 October), and Mutare (6–8 October).
Digital Transformation, AI and Educational Technology
Equipping educators with practical digital competencies, AI literacy, and EdTech integration skills aligned with MoPSE’s technology strategy and NESZ Resolution 7. Sessions in Bulawayo (23–25 September), Chiredzi (30 September–2 October), Harare (7–9 October), and Bindura (21–23 October).
Teacher Professional Development and Heritage-Based Curriculum
Practical pedagogical training for classroom teachers delivering the HBC, aligned with NESZ Resolution 8 and MoPSE’s curriculum implementation strategy. Sessions in Masvingo (13–15 October), Harare (20–22 October), and Bulawayo (4–6 November).
Inclusive Education, Safeguarding and Learner Wellbeing
Equipping educators with inclusive classroom strategies, safeguarding frameworks, and learner wellbeing skills, responding to NESZ Resolutions 2 and 3. Sessions in Bulawayo (14–16 October), Harare (3–5 November), and Masvingo (10–12 November).
Financial Management and Resource Mobilisation
Practical financial management training for school heads, bursars and SDC leaders, aligned with NESZ Resolution 9 on education financing. Sessions in Masvingo (27–29 October) and Harare (28–30 October).
Programme Certification
Every participant who successfully completes a programme receives an Official Certificate of Participation, recognised as evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and aligned with the Zimbabwe Teachers’ Council’s professional development framework.
Who Should Attend
The Academy is designed for school heads and deputy heads, SDC chairpersons and members, school board trustees, classroom teachers, school bursars and administrators, education NGO and development sector professionals, and Ministry officials.

The Academy’s programmes are directly mapped to Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) human capital development pillar and Vision 2030’s mandate for a knowledge-driven economy built on a continuously developing education workforce.
