The National Education Summit Zimbabwe (NESZ), set for May 27–29, 2026 in Bulawayo, is expected to highlight the critical role of the private sector in shaping the country’s education system.
Running under the theme “From Policy to Practice: Driving Innovation and Investment in Zimbabwe’s Education System,” the Summit will bring together business leaders, policymakers, and educators to explore collaborative solutions for education reform.
As Zimbabwe seeks to align its education system with economic needs, the involvement of the private sector has become increasingly important. Businesses play a key role in defining the skills required in the workforce, making their participation essential in shaping relevant education programs.
Mr. Alson Darikayi, President of Action Empowerment Zimbabwe, emphasized this connection: “Education is not just a social sector—it is an economic driver. Investment in education is an investment in national productivity and competitiveness.”
The Summit will provide a platform for private sector stakeholders to engage directly with education leaders and policymakers, fostering partnerships that can drive innovation and resource mobilization.
